The Producer

StarZero Agents's Producer is your main point of contact. Every message you send in the chat goes to the Producer first. Think of it as the lead producer on your team — it understands the big picture, coordinates the specialists, and makes sure everything comes together.

What the Producer Does

The Producer is a comprehensive media production orchestrator. That means it:

• Understands your intent. Whether you say "make me a TikTok clip" or "I need a short vertical video for social," the Producer knows what you're asking for.
• Plans the approach. It figures out the best way to accomplish your goal and the right order to do things in.
• Manages the timeline. The Producer builds and modifies your video project, adding clips, adjusting timing, and arranging everything on the timeline.
• Coordinates the team. When a task needs a specialist, it delegates to the right agent and incorporates their results.
• Tracks to-do lists. For multi-step tasks, the Producer creates and manages a to-do list so you can follow the progress.
• Remembers context. It is aware of your project state, previously found clips, analysis results, and everything that's happened in the conversation.

How the Producer Delegates

The Producer doesn't do everything alone. When the situation calls for it, it brings in a specialist:

Talking to StarZero Agents

There's no special syntax or commands required. Just write naturally:

"I want a 90-second highlight from the interview about startups"

"Can you find the moment where they discuss the acquisition?"

"Add captions to this project and render it in portrait"

"That clip is too long — trim it down to 45 seconds"

StarZero Agents understands conversational language, follow-up requests, and references to previous results. You can also use shortcuts like /task and /search when you want to be more direct, but they're optional.

What the Producer Manages Directly

Some things the Producer handles without delegating:

• Building the video project — Adding clips to the timeline, adjusting clip order and timing
• Project settings — Aspect ratio, captions, rendering configuration
• Viewing images — When you share an image URL or reference a generated image, the Producer can view it directly to understand its contents
• Media analysis — For quick questions about a specific clip, image, or audio file, the Producer can analyze the media directly without delegating to a specialist. This also works with external URLs (YouTube, SoundCloud, direct links).
• Simple requests — Quick questions, clarifications, or adjustments that don't need a specialist
• Recipe coordination — When you launch a recipe, the Producer orchestrates the steps

Clarifying Questions

When your request is ambiguous or missing key details, StarZero Agents will pause and ask you structured clarifying questions before proceeding. Instead of a plain-text question, you'll see an interactive question card right in the chat.

Each question can include predefined options you can click to select, or an "Other" field where you can type a custom answer. If there are multiple questions, they appear as a step-by-step wizard with tabs — answer each one and click Submit answers when you're done.

For example, if you say "make a cutdown from the podcast," StarZero Agents might ask:

• Target duration? — 30 seconds / 60 seconds / 90 seconds / Other
• Platform? — Instagram Reels / TikTok / YouTube Shorts / Other
• Aspect ratio? — 9:16 Portrait / 16:9 Landscape / 1:1 Square

This helps StarZero Agents get it right the first time, without guessing. You can also skip the questions entirely by typing your own message in the chat — StarZero Agents will pick up from there.

Tips for Working with StarZero Agents

• Be specific about what you want. "Create a 60-second cutdown about the funding story" gives better results than "make something from this episode."
• Give feedback naturally. "The opening is weak — try a different hook" works perfectly.
• Ask follow-up questions. "Why did you choose that clip?" or "What other options were there?" — StarZero Agents can explain the reasoning.
• Reference previous work. "Use the clips from the search we did earlier" — StarZero Agents remembers the full conversation.
