Adding Audio Clips
Adding audio to your project is as simple as asking StarZero Agents in the chat. You can pull audio from any content in your library and place it exactly where you need it on the timeline.
Adding Audio from Your Library
Your video library isn't just for video — every piece of content has audio that you can extract and use as a standalone audio track. Just tell StarZero Agents what you'd like:
"Add the audio from my intro jingle as a separate audio track"
"Use the audio from the interview clip as background audio"
StarZero Agents will create an audio clip and add it to your project's audio track, which sits below the video track in your timeline.
Positioning Audio on the Timeline
You can tell StarZero Agents exactly where an audio clip should start playing:
"Add background music starting at 5 seconds"
"Place the narration audio to begin at the 30-second mark"
If you don't specify a start time, the audio clip will be placed at the beginning of the timeline by default.
Trimming with In and Out Points
You don't have to use the entire audio source. Set in and out points to grab just the portion you need:
"Add the audio from the podcast episode, starting from 1:30 to 2:45"
"Use only the first 10 seconds of the music track"
This is great for pulling a specific quote, a particular section of a song, or just the part of a recording you actually want.
How Audio Clips Appear
Audio clips show up on a separate track below your video clips. You'll see them represented as their own blocks on the timeline, making it easy to see what's playing and when.
Linking Audio to Video Clips
Audio clips can be linked to video clips so they move together when you rearrange your timeline. This keeps everything in sync if you decide to shuffle things around later.
"Link this audio clip to clip 3"
Unlinking Audio Clips
If you need an audio clip to stop following its linked video clip, you can unlink it:
- In the visual editor: Click the link icon on the audio clip, or right-click the clip and choose "Unlink from parent clip"
- In the chat: Ask StarZero Agents to unlink the audio clip
Once unlinked, the audio clip stays where it is on the timeline but won't move if you rearrange, split, or remove the video clip it was attached to.
TIP
Moving or resizing an audio clip only unlinks it if the adjustment moves it completely outside the bounds of the linked video clip. Small adjustments that keep the audio overlapping with its linked clip won't break the link.
Putting It All Together
Here's a typical workflow for adding audio to a project:
- Ask StarZero Agents to add your background music: "Add the audio from my intro jingle as background music starting at 0 seconds"
- Set the volume so it doesn't overpower your video: "Set the background music volume to 25%"
- Trim it if needed: "Use only the first 60 seconds of the music"
That's it — you've got a music bed under your video in just a few messages.
