Text-to-Speech Narration
Need a voiceover but don't have a microphone or a voice actor? StarZero Agents can generate spoken narration from text using AI-powered voices. Just type out what you want said, and StarZero Agents will create an audio clip you can add to your project.
Generating Narration
Tell StarZero Agents what you'd like the narration to say:
"Generate narration saying 'Welcome to our product overview'"
"Create a voiceover for this script: In this video, we'll walk you through the top five features of our new platform."
"Generate speech that says 'Subscribe for more tips and tricks every week'"
StarZero Agents will produce an audio clip with a natural-sounding AI voice reading your text. The clip is then ready to be placed on your timeline.
Choosing a Voice
Multiple English voice options are available. You can ask StarZero Agents to use a specific voice or try different ones to find the right fit for your content:
"Generate narration with a female voice saying '...'"
"Use a different voice for this voiceover"
Experiment with the available voices to find one that matches the tone and feel of your project.
Adjusting Speech Speed
You can control how fast or slow the narration is delivered:
"Generate narration at a slower pace saying '...'"
"Make the voiceover a bit faster"
Adjusting speed is useful for fitting narration into a specific time window or matching the energy of your video.
Expressive Delivery
You can make narration more expressive by describing the emotion or delivery style you want. You can direct how the voice sounds:
"Generate narration where the speaker whispers 'I have a secret' then excitedly says 'It's going to be amazing!'"
"Create a voiceover that starts sarcastic and then gets genuinely excited"
You can call for anything from a hushed whisper to full-on excitement — hesitations, laughter, dramatic pauses, and more.
These work best when you describe the delivery naturally in your prompt. The AI voice will interpret your direction and adjust its performance accordingly.
Automatic Captions for Narration
Generated narration automatically supports captions. When you enable captions on your project, each word of your narration appears on screen exactly when it's spoken — just like captions from your video clips. There's no extra step needed; if captions are enabled, your narration is included automatically.
If a narration clip overlaps with a video clip that already has captions, the video's captions take priority to avoid duplicate text on screen.
Using Generated Narration in Your Project
Once generated, the narration becomes a regular audio clip. You can:
- Position it anywhere on the timeline
- Adjust the volume to blend with other audio
- Trim it with in and out points if needed
- Layer it with background music or video clip audio
Great Uses for Text-to-Speech
Text-to-speech narration is perfect for:
- Intro and outro voiceovers — "Welcome to this week's episode" or "Thanks for watching"
- Explanatory narration — Walk viewers through what they're seeing on screen
- Product descriptions — Describe features or benefits over product footage
- Quick social content — Add a voice to short-form videos without recording anything
- Prototyping — Test out a script before investing in professional voice recording
Example Workflow
Here's how you might add narration to a project from start to finish:
- Write your script or talking points
- Ask StarZero Agents to generate the narration: "Generate narration saying 'Here are the three things you need to know about our new update'"
- Place it on the timeline: "Add the narration starting at 2 seconds"
- Add background music underneath at low volume for a polished feel
- Preview and adjust as needed
In just a few messages, you've got a professional-sounding voiceover without ever touching a microphone.
