Clip Controls

When you select a clip on the timeline, the Clip panel in the editor side panel shows controls tailored to that clip type. Open it by clicking the Clip icon in the side panel's icon bar.

Video Clips

Selecting a video clip reveals two sections:

Framing

Control the camera position and zoom for the selected keyframe. This is where you set up pan-and-zoom animations.

• Keyframe navigation -- step through your framing keyframes or add/remove them at the current playhead position
• Position -- adjust the horizontal and vertical position using scrubbable percentage inputs. A short label like "center" or "slightly left" appears next to each value so you can orient at a glance
• Zoom -- set the zoom level as a percentage. Next to it, an aspect ratio preset dropdown lets you snap to common ratios (16:9, 4:3, 1:1, etc.) relative to your project's output aspect ratio
• Easing -- choose how the camera transitions between keyframes: Linear (constant speed), Ease (smooth acceleration/deceleration), or Hold (jump instantly to the next position)

You can also drag the viewport in the preview player to reposition, and drag the corners to zoom -- the panel values update in real time.

Audio

Control the clip's audio volume and animate it over time.

• Volume slider -- set the overall volume for the clip
• Audio keyframes -- add keyframes at different playhead positions to fade volume in and out
• Easing -- choose the transition curve between audio keyframes (Linear, Ease, or Hold)

Audio Clips

Selecting an audio clip (background music, voiceover, sound effects, or detached audio) shows:

• Volume -- adjust the clip's volume with a slider, or use audio keyframes to animate volume over time
• Keyframes -- add, navigate, and remove volume keyframes with easing controls

Overlay Clips

Selecting an overlay (picture-in-picture, logo, SVG graphic) opens the overlay controls within the same panel. See Overlays for details on overlay editing.

Action Bar

A sticky bar at the bottom of the Clip panel gives you quick actions for the selected clip. The available actions depend on the clip type:

• Delete -- remove the clip from the project
• Duplicate -- create a copy of the clip on the timeline
• Mute / Unmute -- toggle the clip's audio on or off (video and audio clips)
• Detach audio -- separate a video clip's audio onto its own track for independent editing (video clips only)
• Unlink -- if an audio clip was detached from a video clip, unlink it so they move independently (detached audio only)

The bar stays visible as you scroll through the panel's controls, so actions are always within reach.

Tips

• The panel automatically updates when you select a different clip -- there's no need to close and reopen it.
• Keyframe controls are disabled during playback. Pause to edit.
• The Clip panel replaces the old floating framing panel. All framing, audio, and action controls now live in one place in the side panel.
