Quick Start Guide
This guide walks you through creating your first video with StarZero Agents, from opening a new chat to downloading a finished render. The whole process can take as little as five minutes.
Step 1: Choose Your Library
When you open StarZero Agents, start by selecting which media library you want to work with. You'll find this option in the sidebar before you begin chatting.
Your library is the collection of videos you've uploaded to StarZero. If you have multiple libraries (for example, one for each client or project), pick the one that contains the footage you need right now.
TIP
If you haven't uploaded any videos yet, head to StarZero first. Once your videos are uploaded and processed, they'll be available in StarZero Agents.
Step 2: Select Content (Optional)
After choosing a library, you can optionally narrow your focus to specific videos within that library. This is helpful when you know exactly which recordings you want to work with.
If you skip this step, StarZero Agents will work with your entire library -- which is great when you're not sure where the best footage lives and want to search broadly.
Step 3: Start Chatting
Now you're ready to go. Type what you need in the message box at the bottom of the screen, just like you'd explain it to a colleague.
Here are some examples to get you started:
- "Find clips where someone talks about our new product features"
- "Show me the most visually interesting moments from yesterday's interview"
- "Summarize the key topics covered in this webinar"
- "Create a 60-second highlight reel from this podcast episode"
You don't need to use special commands or keywords. Just describe what you want in your own words.
Step 4: Review Results
When StarZero Agents finds clips or generates analysis, it shows the results right in the chat.
Clip results appear as labeled, looping video previews. Each clip shows a short segment from your library. Click any clip to watch a larger preview and decide if it's what you need.
Analysis results appear as text -- summaries, theme breakdowns, or content insights that help you understand your footage.
Take your time reviewing. You can ask follow-up questions like "Find more clips like the third one" or "Show me longer versions of these clips."
Step 5: Build Your Video
Once you've found the clips you want, ask StarZero Agents to assemble them into a video project. Be as specific or general as you like:
- "Add these clips to the project in the order you showed them"
- "Put the intro clip first, then the three product demo clips, then the closing"
- "Add captions at the bottom of the video"
- "Add a title card that says 'Q4 Product Highlights' at the beginning"
StarZero Agents builds the project as you go. You can open the video editor panel to see a visual timeline of your project, preview how it looks, and make adjustments.
Want to make changes? Just ask:
- "Swap the second and third clips"
- "Trim the last clip to just the first 10 seconds"
- "Remove the second clip"
- "Change the captions to be larger"
Step 6: Render and Download
When your project looks good, it's time to render -- turning your project into a real video file.
Preview Render (Free)
Start with a preview render to check everything before committing. Preview renders are:
- Lower resolution
- Watermarked
- Free (no credits used)
Just say: "Render a preview" or "Show me a preview of the project."
Full-Quality Render (Uses Credits)
When you're happy with the preview, request the real thing:
- "Render this in high quality"
- "Render the final version in vertical format"
Full-quality renders are high resolution, have no watermark, and use credits from your account.
Once the render is complete, StarZero Agents will provide a download link right in the chat.
Important Things to Know
Library and content selection are locked after your first message
Once you send your first message in a chat, you cannot change which library or content you're working with. If you need to switch, start a new chat. This keeps your conversation focused and consistent.
- Multiple projects per chat. You can create multiple video projects within a single chat and switch between them using the project dropdown in the editor. Only one project is active at a time, but your other projects are saved automatically.
- Your work is saved. You can close the browser and come back later. Find your previous chats in the sidebar under chat history.
- You can always ask for help. If you're not sure what to do next, just ask StarZero Agents. Try "What can you help me with?" or "What are my options?"
Your First Video in 5 Minutes
Here's a concrete example putting it all together. Let's say you recorded a 45-minute interview and want to pull out a short highlight clip for social media.
Open StarZero Agents and select your library from the sidebar.
Select the interview video from the content picker so StarZero Agents focuses on just that recording.
Ask for the highlights:
"Find the 5 most engaging moments from this interview. I need short clips, around 10-15 seconds each."
Review the clips StarZero Agents finds. Click through the previews to make sure they're good.
Build the project:
"Add all 5 clips to a project in order. Put a 'Best of Interview' title card at the start. Enable captions."
Check the preview:
"Render a preview in vertical format for Instagram Reels."
Watch the preview in the chat. If something needs adjusting, just say so -- "Remove the fourth clip, it's too similar to the second one."
Render the final version:
"Looks great! Render the final version in high quality."
Download your finished video from the link StarZero Agents provides.
That's it -- from a 45-minute interview to a polished social clip in just a few messages.
