Known Limitations

StarZero Agents is powerful, but it has boundaries. Understanding what it can't do helps you plan your projects and set realistic expectations. If you need a capability listed here, consider exporting your project to a traditional editor like Adobe Premiere Pro for those finishing touches.

Source and Project Boundaries

No new footage generation. StarZero Agents works exclusively with content already in your library. It can't generate synthetic video, images, or animations.

Library selection locks after your first message. Once you begin a conversation, the content available to you is fixed. If you need to add more videos, start a new chat with the updated selection.

Editing Constraints

Limited external asset import. You can't bring in logos, sound effects, or arbitrary files from outside your library. However, you can import audio from a URL, and the AI can use external images and videos by URL — including free stock content through the Pexels plugin.

Limited compositing. StarZero Agents supports overlays (picture-in-picture, images, SVG graphics) and flexible split-screen layouts (up to 12 panels in any grid arrangement), but does not support arbitrary multi-layer compositing. Split-screen is applied during rendering and is not yet previewable in the editor (coming soon). See Overlays for what's available.

No transitions or fades. Clips play back-to-back without crossfades, dissolves, wipes, or any transition effects between them.

No reverse playback or time ramping. You can speed up or slow down clips (0.25x to 12x), but reverse playback and variable-speed time ramping within a single clip are not available.

No color grading or filters. LUTs, global color corrections, brightness/contrast adjustments, and visual filters are not supported.

No stabilization, blur, or masking. Motion stabilization, face blur, background blur, tracking, denoising, and masking effects are outside StarZero Agents's capabilities.

Graphics and Text

No complex graphics. You can add simple text overlays, but not logos, watermarks, animated graphics, or custom shapes.

No animated text. Text overlays appear and disappear, but they don't animate (no fly-ins, typewriter effects, or per-character styling).

No custom fonts or styling. Text overlays use built-in presets. You can't import custom fonts, choose arbitrary colors, or add background shapes beyond what the presets offer.

Rendering

Output quality depends on your source. StarZero Agents can't upscale low-resolution footage. If your source is 720p, your render won't look like 4K.

All video content must come from your library. Web research that StarZero Agents performs is informational only — it can't pull external media into your edit.

Operational

Your original files are never modified. StarZero Agents always works with copies. Your source content remains exactly as uploaded.

Analysis quality depends on available metadata. StarZero Agents's ability to find and understand your content depends on the quality of transcripts and visual descriptions available. Some content may have richer metadata than others.

Working Around Limitations

Many of these limitations can be addressed by exporting your project:

  • After rendering, click "Download Premiere Pro project" to get a file you can open in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • In Premiere Pro, you can add transitions, color grading, overlays, reverse playback, and any other effects
  • This workflow gives you the best of both worlds: StarZero Agents's AI-powered searching and assembly, plus traditional editing tools for finishing
