Using @Mentions and References

@Mentions are a quick, convenient way to point StarZero Agents to specific videos in your library during a conversation. Instead of describing which video you mean, you can reference it directly — making your instructions clearer and more precise.

How to Use @Mentions

While typing a message in the chat, type the @ symbol. As soon as you do, an autocomplete dropdown will appear showing content from your library. Start typing the name of the video you want to reference, and the list will filter to match.

Select the item you want, and it will be inserted into your message as a reference that StarZero Agents understands.

What @Mentions Do

When you include an @mention in your message, you're telling StarZero Agents to focus on or consider that specific piece of content. For example:

• "Search for shots of the office in @Company-Tour-2024" — Searches only within that specific video
• "Compare the opening of @Interview-Part-1 with @Interview-Part-2" — Points StarZero Agents to two specific items
• "Add the best clips from @Product-Demo to my project" — Directs StarZero Agents to pull from a specific video

This is especially handy when your library contains many videos and you want to be precise about which ones to use.

Previewing Clips from Results

When StarZero Agents returns search results or suggests clips, they appear as clickable clip labels. Click any label to see a looping video preview of that moment. This lets you quickly verify that a clip is what you're looking for before adding it to your project.

Previews play automatically and loop, so you can watch the moment as many times as you need without hunting for a play button.

Combining @Mentions with Instructions

@Mentions work naturally as part of any message. You can combine them with all of StarZero Agents's capabilities:

• Search within a specific video — "Find all mentions of 'budget' in @Board-Meeting-Q3"
• Analyze specific content — "Summarize the key points from @Keynote-Speech"
• Build projects from specific sources — "Create a 60-second highlight reel using only @Event-Day-1 and @Event-Day-2"

Tips

• You can include multiple @mentions in a single message to reference several videos at once
• @Mentions work alongside pre-selected content — you don't have to choose one or the other
• If you're not sure of the exact filename, start typing after @ and browse the autocomplete suggestions
• @Mentions are a great way to keep your instructions clear, especially in longer conversations where you're working with many different pieces of content
