Transcript Search
Transcript search lets you find clips based on what was said in your videos. Whether you're looking for an exact quote or a topic that was discussed, StarZero Agents can locate the precise moments in your content where those words were spoken.
How It Works
When your videos are uploaded, StarZero Agents automatically generates transcripts with precise word-level timing. This means it knows not just what was said, but exactly when each word was spoken. When you search by transcript, StarZero Agents finds the moments that match what you're looking for.
Searching for Exact Phrases
If you're looking for a specific phrase or quote, put it in quotation marks:
- "Find clips where someone says 'artificial intelligence'"
- "Show the moment when they say 'welcome to the show'"
- "Find where someone mentions 'quarterly earnings'"
Using quotes tells StarZero Agents to look for that exact sequence of words.
Searching for Topics
You can also search for topics or concepts without an exact phrase:
- "Find the part where they talk about pricing"
- "Show clips where the conversation is about customer feedback"
- "Find moments where someone discusses the new product features"
StarZero Agents will find sections of dialogue that relate to the topic you described, even if the exact words don't match.
Tips for Better Results
Keep Phrases Short and Specific
Short, distinctive phrases work better than long sentences. Instead of searching for an entire sentence you vaguely remember, focus on the most distinctive two or three words.
Try Variations
If your first search doesn't return what you expected, try rephrasing. The person in the video might have said "machine learning" instead of "artificial intelligence", or "costs" instead of "pricing".
Combine with Context
You can add context to help narrow results: "Find where the CEO talks about revenue" or "Show clips from the panel discussion about sustainability".
What Transcript Search Can't Do
Transcript search works with the words that were spoken. It is not able to detect:
- Tone of voice — queries like "find where someone sounds excited" won't work reliably
- Emotion from speech — "find where someone sounds stressed" requires interpretation beyond the words
- Non-speech audio — music, sound effects, or ambient noise aren't part of the transcript
For understanding emotion or tone, try using Analysis, where StarZero Agents can consider broader context.
When Transcripts Aren't Available
Some content in your library might not have transcripts — for example, videos with no spoken dialogue, music-only content, or items where transcript generation encountered issues. These videos won't appear in transcript search results, but they'll still show up in visual searches.
Working with Results
When StarZero Agents finds transcript matches, the results highlight the relevant spoken content along with clickable clip previews. You can listen to the exact moments, confirm they're what you need, and tell StarZero Agents which clips to use in your project.
